RE: Nature's Select
I highly recommend Nature's Select to anybody and everybody!!
I've been feeding my oldest girl, Freedom, the Nature's Select Alaskan Salmon and Sweet Potato Formula (40 lb bag) due to her age and extra sensitivities and health. She loves it!! As for my other 4 dogs as well as the Fosters that come through my front door, they all eat the Nature's Select Chicken, Lamb, and Rice Meal (50 lb bag). I've been feeding my dogs this dog food for several months now and plan on on keeping them on it for a long while. The customer service has always been excellent, friendly, and helpful!! My delivery guy, Canine Bob, is Awesome and Scott has done a great job on seeing I get my dog food!! They make one heck of team and the customer service is top notch!! Having the dog food delivered right to my place of work is really convenient and hassle free. Saves me on my time which is very hectic and busy as well as saves me gas from driving to pick up dog food a lot of gas too since my Truck is a gas guzzler Lol. I recommend Nature's Select to everybody that I speak to in relations to dog food!! Respectfully, x Eric Emminger Founder/President of Pit Bull Happenings, Inc. RE: Nature's Select
I also use Nature's Select (on Eric's recommendation) and Abby loves it.....just gobbles it right up and wants seconds, thirds and fourths. Her coat is shiny and it is easy to digest.
I also love the delivery service and they come to Venice which is a big plus. They will also package the 50 pound bags into separate 25 pound bags so light-weights like me can lift them. I would recommend Nature's Select to all dog owners! Sue & Abby |

RE: Nature's Select Super Premium Pet Food
As far as I know the dog food analysis hasn't reviewed it and if my memory serves me correctly the dog food analysis has its flaws or whatnot and I'll be sure to investigate them to refresh my memory.
I know my dog food ingredients and where Nature's Select may not be the perfect it is overall decent dog food. IMO, there is not a single "Good or Best Dog Food" out there but I assure you Nature's Select is better than most ;) Nature's Select High Protein formula could actually be higher in the protein level but like I already said I mostly feed the Chicken, Lamb, and Rice meal. RE: Nature's Select Super Premium Pet Food
Did you bother reading that link I supplied ? 8-)
Alaskan Salmon/Sweet Potato Insufficient meat content First ingredient named is meat product in meal form Nothing saying that the fish meal ingredient is ethoxyquin-free (chemical that is carcinogenic) Product includes synthetic Vitamin K (linked to liver problems) The Chicken/Lamb/Rice version actually got a pretty good review for a 3 star food, there were only a couple of small cons with that. That one actually got a Would Recommend - YES. However had the Vitamin K thing as well. Maybe you should check with them and see if they've taken the synthetic Vitamin K out of their foods since these reviews. I'd also ask about the ethoxyquin in the Fish based food. When you figure out what flaws the analysis site has ...you let me know. :thumbup |

RE: Nature's Select Super Premium Pet Food
First, about the ethoxyquin... I'll be contacting Nature's Select to find out...
As for the menadione sodium bisulfate, menadione sodium bisulfite, menadione dimethylprimidinol sulfate, menadione dimethylprimidinol sulfite or menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite (all of which are used as the synthetic Vitamin K) I'm having trouble finding it in the ingredients of the Chicken, Lamb, and Rice meal and the Alaskan Salmon formulas...it does have sources of Natural Vitamin K (alfalfa, kelp)... Chicken, Lamb, and Rice Meal Ingredients: Ingredients: Chicken Meal, Brown Rice, Pearled Millet, Lamb Meal, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols (a source of Vitamin E),Alfalfa Meal, Flaxseed, Dicalcium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Yeast Culture, Kelp, Dried Enterococcus Faecium Fermentation Product , Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus Niger Fermentation Extract, Dried Trichoderma Longibrachiatum Fermentation Extract, Dried Bacillus Subtilis Fermentation Extract, Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Choline Chloride, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Selenium Yeast, Biotin, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Yucca Schidigera Extract. --------------------------------------------------------------- Alaskan Salmon and Sweet Potato Formula: Ingredients: Wild Alaskan Salmon Meal, Brown Rice, Sweet Potato Meal, Pumpkin Meal, Canola Oil (Preserved with mixed Tocopherols), Flaxseed, Salmon Oil, Cranberries, Blueberries, Potassium Chloride, Kelp, Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Calcium Panthothenate , Choline Chloride, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Monoitrate, Selenium Yeast, Biotin, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Chelate, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Yucca Schidigera Extract. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a link that better explains the "synthetic Vitamin K" which is not good however be advised their's a big difference from the Natural Sources and the Synthetic Sources. As for Vitamin K, the body does requires the Vitamin K however only in a very small amount. http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=menadione Respectfully, x Eric Emminger Founder/President of Pit Bull Happenings, Inc. RE: Nature's Select Super Premium Pet Food
dogfoodanalysis.com claims that Nature's Select doesn't offer any guarantees or more information regarding the (chemical preservative) again, I've contacted my distributor with certain questions and will await his reply. However, please note this is from the Nature's Select main website...
"Nature's Select Super Premium Pet Food uses the freshest and finest ingredients available. We use whole meats, whole ground rice and natural preservatives like Vitamin C & E and Rosemary extract. We never include any by-products, corn, wheat or chemical preservatives. Our dog food and cat food formulas are highly digestible to provide maximum nutrition for your pet. All our recipes are formulated to exceed the nutritional levels established by AAFCO dog food nutrient profiles for all life stages." http://www.naturalpetfooddelivery.com/ Here's the link to the dog food analysis Nature's Select Alaskan Salmon with Sweet Potato Formula ranking it a 3 out of 6 stars. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_...1252&cat=5 the DFA also claims no fruits or vegetables are in this particular formula, so I don't know what they consider sweet potatoes, pumpkins, cranberries, blueberries, etc... RE: Nature's Select Super Premium Pet Food
After doing a comparison... it should be noted that the review dates are from 2007. That's a long time ago in relations to the dog food industry. The ingredients are different from the DFA site and NS site. I'll formerly request the DFA to do an updated review of all the NS's dry dog food formulas...
I've already posted the ingredients of the Chicken, Lamb, and Rice Meal and the the Alaskan Salmon with Sweet Potato formulas. I tried to copy the ingredients from the DFA website from their 2007 review but was unable to but if you notice the ingredient list they have and what I've posted here for the ingredients on the formulas you'll see the difference. DFA 4 Star Rating for the Chicken, Lamb, and Rice Meal (reviewed 2007): http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_...1250&cat=4 DFA 3 Star Rating for Alaskan Salmon with Sweet Potato (reviewed 2007): http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_...1252&cat=5 Respectfully, x Eric Emminger Founder/President of Pit Bull Happenings, Inc.
