Pit Bull Happenings Rescue
Pit Bull Happenings is Proud to Announce we are beginning a "Rescue Chapter" and adding Rescue into Pit Bull Happenings!!
Policies as well as our Position Statements are currently being hammered out and will be publicly displayed once they are established. We are working on getting our business license for the Pit Bull Happenings name and after which we'll begin working towards our 501c3 not-for-profit status which unfortunately will take some hard work and time which really shouldn't be a surprise considering we have to deal with the Federal government as well as the IRS... Since, Pit Bull Happenings Rescue is being born... I want to highlight some of which is to be expected from us. We are going to focus on our local communities within Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough Counties (possibly Citrus, will vary on case to case basis). We will be headquartered out of Pasco County. Lord, knows Pasco needs help since the dogs here in this county seems to have primarily Animal Services to take them in and nobody else, so it seems. A preview of what is to be expected from Pit Bull Happenings Rescue: - Education for the great American Pit Bull Terrier and "Pit Bull" type dogs. - Advocacy and Awareness for the great American Pit Bull Terrier and "Pit Bull" type dogs. - to save one "Pit Bull" at a time. - to get involved with our local communities - to promote responsible dog ownership - to bring communities together - to be the voice for the often misunderstood "Pit Bull" and briefly some of our policy ideals soon to be displayed, for now the policies will be (official policies are still being written and will supercede anything written here. The following is simply to give everybody an idea of what to expect as of now): - We are currently only accepting owner surrenders (once we have our 501c3 cert. we'll be able to do more and go to Animal Services)
- We'll be actively seeking Foster Homes and Volunteers and will seek out and bringing our communities together as our communities will make or take Pit Bull Happenings Success/Failure. - Any dog in that is brought into our Rescue won't be available for adoption for atleast one week. This will allow me time to evaluate and get to know the dog better which I feel is of the utmost importance to properly place him/her. - All dogs will be one year old or older. Any dog in our Rescue that is younger than one will be held onto until he/she's one yr old. I've seen countless and countless of numbers of shelters and rescues throughout our nation that are pushing, pushing, and pushing puppies... I've also seen good, healthy adult ambassadors overlooked because everybody seems to want a puppy. My issue with this is the simple fact that a puppy has not proved themselves as a rescue, we need to ensure we are adopting out Ambassadors which in turn strikes out every puppy. So, if you're looking for a puppy puppy well then you've come to the wrong Rescue ;) - All dogs adopted out will be up to date on all vaccinations, current on heartworm preventative (and negative for heartworms), spayed/neutered, current on rabies shot, and microchipped. - We will have a thorough application process for adopting out our dogs, to include some personal information, references, veterinarian, possible background check, and expect your knowledge of "Pit Bulls" be tested ;) etc... - Home Inspection will be conducted for EVERY dog before the Adoption is finalized. - We will work and train our dogs to earn their Canine Good Citizens (CGC) and hopefully this will become reality for all of our dogs ![]() - We will only be adopting out our dogs locally as a home inspection will be required and my current vehicle gets 11.8 miles per gallon so I'm not driving hours on hours to do a home inspection. Find a local rescue or go to your local SPCA, humane society, or animal services/control. PBH is just beginning and we must stay local for the time being. - All dogs will be adopted out after a detailed contract is signed. Well, I think this about does it for a preview of what is to be expected of Pit Bull Happenings errr, it'll have to be since I'm at work and fixin' to get off. I'm currently without home internet since somebody cut my cable outside when putting up the privacy fence *whistling* We are extremely excited and have so much to come and look forward to in the Pit Bull Happenings Rescue!! We have high hopes and goals which will all be clearly written out!! ![]() We are currently accepting any and all donations whether it's monetary, materialistic, etc... and it's all very much appreciated! Unfortunately, any donations given will not be a tax write off until we get our paperwork filed. So, please be patient with us as we get our paperwork in order and get all that needs filed. Thanks and you can expect to see a lot more Pit Bull Happenings around ;) Respectfully, x Eric Emminger Founder/President of Pit Bull Happenings, Inc. We are a 501c3 Not-for-Profit Organization! |
