Florida "Pit Bull" Rescue: About Us!

We are a Florida "Pit Bull" Rescue, (Primarily serving the greater Tampa Bay area) We are a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit, Federal Tax Exempt Organization, Florida Nonprofit Corporation headquartered in west Pasco County. We are an all volunteer and foster home network "Pit Bull" Rescue.

As a "Pit Bull" Rescue, we primarily focus on educating the masses and of course, rescuing "Pit Bull" type dogs. We are ALL Volunteers and are NOT paid ANY monetary compensation whatsoever for our time and efforts! We ask that our staff and volunteers are treated with patience and respect. We are here for the dogs!

We will do our best to help you in anyway we possibly can but we ask that you keep in mind that we are NOT able to save every dog. Sadly, there are too many dogs in need of rescuing. We can only save one "Pit Bull" at time!

We primarily will intake and adopt out within our local communities and will make exceptions for other parts within the state of Florida. Our Board of Directors will discuss it and ultimately make the final decision. All new intakes, will go to our Founder's home (The Dog House) to go through a more thorough evaluation period. Then each PBH Rescue Dog will be judged individually and placed into a foster home that best fits that individual dog.

While in foster homes, our PBH Rescue Dogs live in our homes... amongst our family, as part of our family until a forever home can be found. Our PBH Rescue Dogs learn house and crate mannerisms, basic obedience/training, are socialized with both humans and animals (depending on which level of Dog/Small Animal Aggression the PBH Rescue Dog may or may not be exhibiting will dictate which foster home will handle and manage that individual dog. For the Record: You should NEVER confuse Dog Aggression with Human Aggression as they are the complete opposite! Human Aggression is NOT tolerated, while Dog/Small Animal Aggression should be managed and controlled!) We have a pretty comprehensive and thorough adoption process which includes but is not limited to a comprehensive adoption application and review, meet and greets, home inspection and interviews, etc...

While the PBH Rescue Dogs are under the direct care of Pit Bull Happenings, Inc. they will be socialized and taught proper mannerisms. They will be attending various adoption events! Please check our calendar frequently and mark your own calendars!

Pit Bull Happenings, Inc. will ensure that every PBH Rescue Dog's general welfare (including but is not limited to the proper and immediate medical care, placed into a responsible foster home(s), etc...) is provided for. The protection and safety of our PBH Rescue Dogs is our #1 Priority! We will do everything within our powers and legal system (Federal, State, and Local Laws/Ordinances) to protect and care for our PBH Rescue Dogs!
