Subject Line: Courtesy Posting To be listed on this Page, the Dog(s) absolutely MUST be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on annual vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms (unless undergoing heartworm treatment under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian), and is current with rabies shot and heartworm preventative! Important: Unless explicitly told otherwise, we will list the dogs for 60 days! It's your responsiblity and common courtesy to notify us when the dog has found a Forever Home! Please Note: We (representatives of Pit Bull Happenings Rescue) have NOT evaluated/assessed ANY of the following dogs for Temperament/Behavior and/or Health! Responsibility and Accountability lies between the interested party and the legal owner of the Dogs! We are simply posting as a courtesy!  Bubba needs a very special home. He is a mixture of pit bull and shar pei, and has much characteristic of both breeds. He needs a strong leader and an experienced owner with either of those breeds. He is wonderful with the family and friends. He also had an incident, about a year ago, where he had a slipped disk. He was temporarily paralyzed in his back end, but with a few sessions of acupuncture, and lots of love, he is fine now. However, he still has to be leash walked only. Running and jumping, as well as tug a war, are not the best for his back. Not to say he won’t still try, though. (You must be stern with this one.) I found Bubba about two years ago, around Christmas. He was a stray that showed up and lingered in my neighborhood, and I fell in love with him. He has improved immensely, all around; his fur grew in nicely, and he’s been taught some manners. He has also had basic training, but he is stubborn, hence the requirement for an experienced (and patient) person. Once he falls in love with you, he will be your shadow. He may also try to climb into your lap. Best toys are nylabones and kongs (although he will eventually get through those). He also loves the jumbo tennis balls. He has been getting Trifexis for heartworm and flea prevention. He is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and microchipped as well. He does not like cats and plays very rough with other male dogs which could easily cause "hurt feelings" so, an older female might be a better fit. Captain and Morgan are siblings at about 7 months young. They are currently with Second Chance Boxer Rescue in the Tampa Bay area. They are both working on their house and basic training/mannerisms. Captain is more low key and loves to cuddle and give kisses. Morgan is much more active, so an active family will probably fulfill her needs better. Morgan weighs about 30 lbs. Both are great with people of all ages and good with other dogs! He comes from a loving home and owner who can no longer have him. He just turned a year old this month. He is neutered. Up to date on all vaccines. He was rescued from the Humane Society of Tampa at 4 months. He has been seen by The Humane Society of Tampa Bay's clinic and is super healthy! He is eager to please and has a lot of potential.
