Pit Bull Awareness and Appreciation Day!

October is National Pit Bull Awareness Month!

Throughout the country, Pit Bull advocates, groups, and organizations host Events to spread positive awareness about our beloved dogs and their responsible owners.

In 2007, Bless the Bullys introduced the idea of a national "Pit Bull Awareness Day" and it took off like wildfire!

The importance of having a national Pit Bull Awareness campaign is significant! It's a day to tell the truth about our Dogs and their responsible owners that you won't hear from the media. It's the opportunity to show the world that we are in high numbers and are very diverse! That we have highly intelligent, loyal, and loving dogs! That our dogs have wonderful temperaments, personalities, and so much more!

Pit Bull Happenings Rescue is adding a slight tweak to "Pit Bull Awareness Day" We are incorporating the word "Appreciation" into our own "Pit Bull Awareness" events! The reason why is simple. It's because the word "awareness" can be associated with and misinterpreted to reflect negativity which in the case of "Pit Bull Awareness" has an unintended consequence. We want to ensure that the general public, media, lawmakers, and everybody else realizes this is a positive day dedicated and in appreciation of the American Pit Bull Terriers!

Click here to visit the National Pit Bull Awareness Day Website!

Pit Bull Happenings Rescue will be hosting our own annual "Pit Bull Awareness & Appreciation Day" events! Not only will we be hosting these events, we will also be celebrating our own anniversary! Pit Bull Happenings Rescue was founded on October 15th of 2010! The month of October means a lot to us! Very important to us! So, we are proud to celebrate "Pit Bull Awareness & Appreciation Day" as well as our anniversary!
